i know this will be dependant upon mileage, environment, climate, outside temp and air-con usage but just out of curiosity, how often should the microfilter be changed??

i replaced mine about 3 years ago and feel the effieciency of my air-con is lower.

Saw some postings here about air flow restrictions due to a clogged microfilter and knew that had to be my problem too. Went to the archive to get all the poop, had the thing out in about an hour and Woah Baby, the fan motor can push air after all! This was all done in a '95 540 E34 with 65k miles. Have to believe the thing has never been changed in its life (I bought the car used a year ago) since it was completely clogged. Looking at all the crud it captured, I believe you have to replace the thing - hate to see the cooling fins get clogged with that mess. Amen, I'm a believer, especially here in 111'F Texas!
