Anyone with RE 730 235/40 17 shimmy?....more (archive)

I have been battling the shimmies for months now. I have changed the upper control arm and now am about to change the lower arm. I brought the car to get the wheels balanced with a Hunter DSP 9700. They said that they could not balance the wheels due to excessive force variance. But they did not tell me if the wheels were bad or the tire. The shop did emphasize the tires but could not give a definitive answer. Anyone with any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA b
