95 540i/6 vs. 97 Mercedes E320? (archive)

i am deciding between the purchase of a 95 540i 6 speed and a 97 Mercedes E320. I am looking for info or opinions on the 2 cars, and am wondering what to look for when inspecting a possible 540i candidate (ie Alusil bolck, shimmy, etc.)?? Has anyone else been in this same position and can offer advise?
