Sounds good, they have been making the 3.5 engine since WWII, and has proven worthy. The only thing I would have checked is the compression-- if it is even and srong- you have found a car that should have many miles left in it-- good luck! -Paul '91 535i

Compression and leakdown test are a good idea. Also check for rust in the exhaust along with door sills and trunk, shock towers,etc., guibo, play in rear diffirential and all front end bushings. Closely examine all electrics, especially the dash displays. I also think it might be a good idea to see how true the wheels are, although this is usually more of a problem with 17
inchers. At that price you could fix almost anything and still have a great car if the basics are solid
