Has anyone done leather repair? (archive)

Hi,
I have a 95 525i with leather seats and the passenger side seat has developed a tear in the seat down near the seam in the flat part of the cushion. The leather seems to be in otherwise good condition, no crack, etc. In the area where the tear is, the leather seems very thin and tears easily.
I have been treating the leather regularly since I got the car last April. Can this be repaired/stopped easily?
