If the '93 M5 has ASC, you might be giving the car a bit too much gas for the situation, and the ASC will cut the power to keep you from spinning out. There should be a light on the dash indicating when the ASC is intervening.

After driving the car for some time on the interstate, I have encountered a problem when trying rapid acceleration (like, coming back on the interstate, on an entrance ramp). When I punch it, say in 2nd or 3rd, rather than accelerating the engine power seems to cut back instead. But, after trying it again shortly thereafter, it accelerates fine. Doesn't happen with regularity, from what I can tell (I just acquired the car - 62K mi - , and have been driving it for a couple of days.) Seems like a fuel issue, but there hasn't been any history of the car having this problem. Any ideas??
Thanks.
