Don't have much carbon buildup in the combustion chamber regardless of mileage. The buildup on bmws occurs on the back side of the intake valve and in the port to a lesser degree.
Moot mentioned how he did it, which is a better method and not as harmful. Remove intake manifold and clean carbon off of the valves. The only thing i would do differently is to make sure each valve is closed and vacum out or blow with compressed air after cleaning out the carbon. This won't clean the injectors but neither will ventil sauber.I have 180k almost and I want to clean out the carbon in my engine. There was a nice discussion on the pros and cons of this procedure a little while ago. Now SERIUOSLY can this damage your engine, cat, 02 sensor, or anything else? Let's discuss this as technically as possible and without any flames. Any techs out there willing to submit their opinions? Anyone that has done this procedure please submit. TIA b '91 525 180k
