Yup, the breaker bar did the trick on the strut housing/steering arm bolts like a charm. Everything went together well and I discovered something VERY interesting. The old upper control arms were on the wrong sides (L on R, and R on L)! They were BMW parts, and I thought they were original, so I wonder if it came that way. If not, and some other shop did it, it definitely reinforces why I do this stuff myself. Additionally, on the outside of each arm was a shiny swath that upon further inspection had been caused by rubbing the inside of the tires. Luckily, no tire damage, but they need to be replaced anyway.
