According to Unix Nerd, they made E34s in Late 1996, and those had M62s. If you live in the US, the only M62 you'll find is in a newer BMW, such as the E38 or E39, with the 4.4L V8.

Also, there was never a 3.0L M62, as far as I know. Except, possibly in late 1996 E34s.

In E34s, they're all M60s.


Where can I look on my 530i to see if I have a M-60 or M-62 engine?

Understood. Except, I found a site that says the V-8 had a M-60 or 62 to choose from.
