I did drive one of these when BMW Melbourne last had one. Beautiful car, no question - but 1 gear, 2 cylinders, some M5 rims, sports suspension et al could not convince me it was twice as good as mine. Having said that, I do not know what I would replace mine with - as I don't have a lazy $200k for an M5, and no other manual E39's available (thanks BMW Aus), may just have to (happily) keep the E34. Not a dilemma too hard to live with.

Speaking of the mob on the hill, I recall that in the early 90's, an E34 M5 won the production 12 hours at Bathurst - maybe a few times....

Hi Guys

Pete, drive the 540i Limited and ask yourself if it is twice the car your 535i is (I don't think so). Besides, v8's are so common aren't they!!!!
Who wants to be associated with the "mob on the hill" at Bathurst anyway :^)
