I checked with a couple of local glass shops and they offer to polish side glass but won't touch windshields as they claim there is a risk of distorting the driver's vision. Sounds like they would rather sell you glass than polish it. If anybody tries it before too long, please post the results.
The windshield on my car is ugly. I would describe it as being 'hazed'. Lots of little tiny nicks in it. If the sun hits it it's like having a sheet thrown over the car, I can't see out. I'm wondering if I can do something to help clear this up, or do I need to buy a new windshield?
: The only thing to try other than a new windshield is to buff it out. Eastwood Company, which carries a lot of restoration products has a powder that you mix into a slurry and use a buffer tobuff it out. I have the same problem with mine. I have done it once and it helpad a little bit. I am going to do it again. They also sell a buffing attacment that I used with a power drill. This was several years ago that I bought this from them. Its worth a try. Somewhere I have heard of people using Bon Ami cleanser. Check the archives about that one.
