Ken - was that the motor bearings or the support bearings for the linkage assembly? If the linkage assembly...what symptoms did you have the made you replace the bearings?

Hello Wilson,

I replaced on of the bearings in the wiper motor on my '89 535i. It was quite a job. I had to remove the water reservoir, the panel from the firewall, the a/c blower unit, and the wiper bracket assembly. Get a copy of the Bentley service manual or the BMW service manual to see a step by step procedure for removing and reinstalling the pieces.

Good Luck,

Has anyone replaced a wiper motor assembly and was it difficult? Any tips?
