Just to let all of you do it yourselfers that I completed the first major work for me on my 1990 535i. The only lessons I learned was that the 30mm socket (thin wall) for the output shaft flange was tricky to find and that you should have all of the hardware there (including locking nuts) before you start!

I still can't get over the fact that they stamp "BMW" on the heat shield as a genuine part (its a piece of aluminum foil for crying out loud!)
