540/6 Temporary Oil Pressure Loss - Concerned (archive)

I was braking hard (70MPH - 0) yesterday evening when my Oil Pressure light flickered and the gong sounded. The light only lasted a second, but I don't mess around with insufficient oil pressure.

I have not yet checked the oil level (but I will) -- I assumed that the level sensor would give me a heads-up if the engine were low.

Reviewed the archives and the 530/540 site -- I read about the oil pump bolt problem -- not too amused by those stories, but at least the fix sounds inexpensive (assuming no damage has occured).

It's time for an oil change anyway, and I was planning on having the dealer check the threads on the drainplug and do a leakdown test.

Any other thoughts/suggestions before I take baby in to the shop?
