I've noticed that the US spec ellipsoids on my E34 don't seem to be as good as my aftermarket Hella H4s on my E28. The H4s with std 55/60 watt bulbs seem to have a more even pattern and light up the shoulders of the road more evenly.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've been thinking about pulling the ellipsoids and replacing them with the H4s.
