there is likely a problem with the receiving antenna which is built into the windshield mounted mirror.

The mirror/antenna is over $400 so check to see if the 2nd key exhibits the same symptoms.

And if you don't have a 2nd remote key, then a prior owner does.

I am experiencing a frequent and re-occurring problem with my remote control. I will go several days where my master key will engage & dis-engage both the security system & door locks. Then for no reason it won't work for a time period, only to resume normal operation again. It is very frustrating. Any comment or suggestions would be appreciated.
