Hi Richard,

I have Yakima racks. And, other than having to mortgage the house each time I want to buy something, they are great! I use it to carry bikes and ski's. On and off the car in less than 5 minutes.

Only real negative to the rack - any rack really - is the wind noise when it's installed. Sunroof is unusable due to noise too. Oh, and be careful with the pop up vent feature on the sunroof - you can hit a pedal or other low hanging things.

If you buy Yakima, be sure to get the Tower mounts, not the gutter mounts! When I purchased my mounts, the Yakima book suggested both will work. NOT! The gutter mounts, which I have from a previous car, tend to pry the drip rail away from the roofline. Not a good thing.

Good luck,

90 535iM Sharked (my SUV, with emphasis on the SPORT!)

Jeff or Kenny,

What kind of roof racks do you have? I am looking at purchasing some towers for my '94 530i Touring, that would accomodate my and snowboard (not necessarily at the same time). I think Thule and Yakima both make models with all the interchangeable parts. Recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Looks like the same type of roads I drive on too... Hmmm, is that a pic of me driving it?? haha

Out and about in the outer reaches of Seattle. :)
