i replaced the low and the high beams before in my car (89 - 535) with the 80 watt low and the 100 watt high. the 2 low beam fuses burned out when i turned on the lights. as i was looking at it, i was like 'OH of course- more watts equals more amps'. so i put in larger fuses. after i turned them on again the low beam relay inside the LCM burned out. when i went to the dealer to buy the $250 part, he did say it was a rare occurence for that to happen.

as the wires and relays age their resistance increases and adding in a larger amp draw may cause problems. i think it is probally the luck of the draw as to if you will have problems or not.
