Hi Bob,
As you know, there is a performance fall-off what with chain stretching, tensioner and sprocket wear. However, I do know of people (probably as anal as I) changing tensioners, chains and sprockets (one, some or all of the aforementioned) at anywhere from 100k to 200k. Interestingly though, I have never heard of anyone with a road car that has had one fail!!!
