I was cut-off on the highway by a 22 year old woman on the cell phone and on the way to a party. As soon as she got in front of me, she rear-ended someone, then I hit her.

Since my car is lowered, my grill and hood got it..her car? scratches o nthe bumper (hyundai, accent (I think))

Nothing too serious on my car though...no fender damage. I have 270K Km's (I think that's about 145K miles) and numerous stone chips on the hood-front, fender-fronts, and front grill parts - otherwise in very good condition. Insurance estimate is $6,700!!
Example of parts (all are BMW parts new):
Hood $817.00 CDN
Headlight assembly each (inluding bracket and cover, etc) $690.00 CDN (x2)
Then the grills, kidneys, etc..another few hundred.

I was planning on getting the car painted for about $2,500 CDN But I'd rather pay my $500 deductable and get what I'm getting. I guess at this point, I'm happy I hit someone at just the right impact (not too serious and not not little damage that I'd have to pay out-of-pocket)

My insurance increases $25/mnth for 6 years - that's $1,800 for a lot of work (complete paint job) + my deductable (which I will try to negotiate with the shop owner)

Thanks for listening
