Road Force Variation test. The test was done on the GSP 9700 at the Pleasanton, CA Big O Tire outlet.
Failure means two of the tires were out of specification by reading 25lbs and 18lbs, one tire was marginal at 16lbs and the fourth was perfect at zero.

Not much I can do but put the best tires on the front and live with defective tires until they wear out. The rims were checked to be perfect balance, so the problem was clearly tire related. With perfect rims, the opportunity to counteract the variation by rotating the tire on the rim was eliminated.

Road force variation can come about from among other things belt separation in the tire. The manufacturer argues about calibration settings, questions specifications and talks about a 1/32" wear limitation before the problem is caught.

Sometimes the tires are out of box failures but nobody checks this. I will next time I buy tires. Jim
