I have been there recently. When you say the whole cooling system, did you include the fan clutch? Also is your two-speed Auxiliary (electric) fan coming on? To bleed, bring engine to operating temp with heater on. Shut off engine and loosen bleeder screw on top of thermostat cover until steam is purged and coolant streams out. After engine cools enough you might have to top off your reservoir and repeat. It can take several iterations. It helps to have the front end a little higher than the rear (park on a incline).

I have just recently replaced the whole cooling system after the radiator hose leaked badly. Now the engine runs hot during stop and go traffic (2-3 mm past the center temp. mark). I searched the database and a lot of people say to "bleed" the system to leak out air pockets to make to engine run cooler. Exactly how do you do the bleeding? (i.e. when the engine is cool or hot, running or stopped?) Please help.
