Here is the process for a 1994 525. I don't know for sure if it the same for 1993 models.

Remove the bottom of the back seat. (push towards the back of the car and lift the front of the bench) Under the seat on the drivers side is the brain box for the alarm system. Lift the access cover. You will see a row of 5 DIP switches. Switch number 2 is the "Acoustical Confirmaton Switch" - flip this switch to the off position - then press the reset button in there and you should be ready to go.
