As you just got your car and I assume you will keep it for quite a while (it's a great car), I would not take the chance of buying a used CD unit. You can get a brand new one from Pacific BMW for $328. This is their price advertised in 12/00 issue of Bimmer magazine. Their phone # is (800)909-PARTS.
