The socket is very very shallow compared with
most cigarette lighters. Most standard
DC power plugs will not stay fully inserted.
The one on my radar detector backs out
just enough to lose contact with the
center hot contact. Test as follows.
Push in the DC plug for your CD player.
Try CD player while simultaneously holding
the plug all the way in. If the CD player
works, then you just need to find a way to
make the plug stay put. A small wedge of
paper works for me. Better yet, get the
accessory power cord from your dealer, the one
that plugs into the flashlight outlet
in the glove box. It's a better, cleaner
setup.
