How does modifying a truck make it useless? My truck does everything I intend it to do. It gets me where I want to go and it can haul anything that I need it to haul. Yes, it handles much better than stock but nowhere near a BMW. What do you expect? My truck has a leaf sprung solid rear axle. My BMW has a wonderful IRS. DUHHH!! The truck is not a car. I'm fully aware of this!
"Lowered trucks can't haul as much as a stock one so that advantage is reduced if not completely lost, vs. a car." - Read up. My truck can haul just as much now as it could before I lowered it. There are lowering methods for trucks that actually increase towing and hauling capabilities.
"Lowered trucks are no more capable off road than any Subaru." - So? Your point is? Why do you keep bringing up "off-road" when you speak of trucks? 2wd trucks aren't off-roaders. The most off-road most trucks ever see is driving down the alley to get to the backyard. If I wanted to go off-roading, I'd go buy me a 4x4.
"Trucks are cheap to maintain, but so are Honda Accords." - My truck is cheaper to maintain than a Honda Accord and I wouldn't ever own a Honda anyhow. It's not my style.
"The only real reason you've produced for modifying your pickup is the 'individuality' of it." - Is there something wrong with individuality? I see no problem with it.
"If it's that important to you, perhaps you could paint it pink." - Pertaining to individuality, if pink were my favorite color, then the truck would be pink. My favorite color is blue. I had my truck painted a shade of blue that I happen to like very much. It's not that hard to figure out.
I'm going to continue being irrational in your eyes. Don't try to figure me out with rational thoughts. It's no big deal. Just accept it as a fact that I love trucks just as much as I love BMW's. I am a well-rounded car enthusiast and could come up with thousands of different cars that I would love to own. Trucks and BMWs are among the very top of my list of favorites. They just happen to be the affordable favorites.
