I see you mentioned mountain driving.
I recently installed ATE PowerDiscs (they are slotted with a distinctive pattern)on my 5er with RedStuff Kevlar/Metallic pads...NO FADE and
NO DUST!! They are shaded toward aggressive/performance driving so, if you are not an aggressive driver I would suggest EBC GreenStuff pads. You will pay around $59 ea for the discs (I got mine from www.germanautoparts.com - nice guys good prices) and $90 for the pads (www.brakes.com). The GreenStuff pads are not cheap but they are EXCELLENT fade free pads that will not dust your wheels...
