When you shove in most electrical component plugs into the sockets, they tend to 'spread' the contacts inside the sockets thereby losing their 'grip' on the caps.Look inside the sockets and you will see two metal 'prongs'.You need to bend these inwards but you must NOT use metal as a tool as the 'prong' and the surrounding metal in the socket are the +ve and -ve elements. Buying new caps will not fix the defect.I experienced this when I used the socket to charge my mobile phone.

I thought my cig.lighter sockets werent working, but I put in my radar today and it worked. Yet, wehn I put the caps in, the caps come right back out. Are these probably the wrong sized caps??? Can I just go to walmart and get new ones or do i have to order new ones specially, as i heard these sockets were deeper or something
