I had a cassette jam last week. I had to remove the deck (2 screws under small tabs on either side of deck), then take the top off of the deck (2 more screws), and finally using needle nose pliers-remove about 2 feet of tape that had wound around the capstan. Then the unit would eject the cassette. I did this without having to disconnect cables from the back of the unit. If the previous solutions to this didn't work, and you're not familiar with the insides of a tape deck---better see a pro. Good luck!
