Hi Phil,

That's what worries me - the pump. Oil pumps are pretty hardy creatures from my experience, do you know if there are any inherent weaknesses in BMW pumps? I'll have to check Bentley to see whether it's a vane or gear type.

Replacing the sensor almost seems like wishful thinking but that is certainly the simplest course of action.
