Same thing happened to my car. I changed the 0xygen sencor problem solved. It of course may not be your problem, but if you haven't changed it for awhile I would check it out.


I have a '90 535i and recently the check engine light has been coming on and staying on.

It usually doesn't last long, but today it was on for about 2 hours driving to work.

I have been told that the check engine light doesn't point to many sensors or problems in the engine.

Is this true? What's the best(cheapest) way to find the problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated...
