still has problems picking up the oil when cold. Second It has a gear pump. Does this correspond to when you changed the oil? Did you notice it only after that? Did you change all the orings when you changed the oil?. I don't know if the little one on the bolt will allow the filter to drain down completely if its bad because i always replace it. However if its draining down overnight then it would take longer to achieve pressure in the morning. The filter housing would have to fill first.
Hi,

Been noticing during the week that the oil pressure light is taking a little longer than I'd like, to go out when starting first time in the morning. Today, after two days of not starting her up, I got the "chime" and warning message. Right about then the light went off and all's well (light-wise).

Any ideas? I changed oil about three weeks ago with my usual 20W-50. Temps have not been particularly cold (50's) and the car's in the garage all night. The only thing that I can note is that the oil level is a tad over the high mark (happened when I changed the oil).

Doesn't seem like a bad sensor because on restarting after shutting down for a bit, the light goes out instantaneously. Car is a '91 535 (M30).
