I have seen reports of failures in England. I have not seen any elsewhere. It would depend on your local sulfur content in your gasoline or where the car came from. Canada had fairly high levels of sulfur until recently and also had high failure rates.

As everyone on Earth knows BMW had a problem with their nikasil coated aluminum block V8s due to the high sulfur content in US gasoline. I was wondering if this same problem manifests itself with the same engines in other countries, but perhaps just not with the same frequency? For instance, I'm from New Zealand, should I stay away from V8s too?
