Shudder at high speed is not normal at all. My '89 525 is silky smooth from 0-130+
I would get the wheels/tires rebalanced; either on a really good computer balancer or there are some shops that do it on the car. I have heard mixed things about the on-the-car balancing, but if your wheels/tires are well balanced already, there may be some minor unbalanced-ness in say the rotors or hubs or something (though that is unlikely because of the manufacturing tolerances of those things)
also might want to make sure there is no mud/dirt/crud on the inside of the wheels that could mess with the balance. (doesn't take much at speed)hope that helps

I recently purchased a '95 525ia. The car runs very good particularly at about 70 - 85,90 mph. However, at 95 or so the car begins to shudder. The car is new to me and I got my first chance to "open it up a bit" on I95 north between MD and PA today. Is this shudder normal? Is this an indication that I may need to have some work done?
