Rear rattle/knocking noise..Strut mounts ??? (archive)

I am getting a rattle/rocking noise coming from the bottom of the car. I am thinking that it might be the rear strut mounts, but the noise seems to come from under the car, not the rear deck where they mount. Anyone have experience with the noise these mounts make when they are shot ?
