Well, just bought my 95 525iA this summer. Was worried about a rear-wheel drive car when we get a pile of snow. Well, woke up to about 6" of snow, and is still coming down hard, another foot expected, city might close down soon. Hopped in my car to head to work. All the roads were covered in snow and very slippery. Plows hadnt dont anything yet, roads are too cold to salt. I get to my first stop and go, the ASC kicks in, my car edges forward very nicely, backend doesnt kick, not too much spin. Acceptable accelration for this weather. I get to the downtown district, and I have one last fairly steep hill to climb to get to where im going. Problem being, there is a stoplight at the top of the inclination. Hopefully I wont have to stop on the hill. Could be a nightmare of sliding backwards and sideways. Well, I got to the hill, a brand new Maxima is next to me and the light turns red at the top of the hill. Before we even get there, I notice the Maxima (fwd) is already slipping, so I slow down behind him and stop to give him room. He starts to go back a little, then sideways. Tires arent doing anything for this guy. I decide to move over a lane and give him all the room he wants. Well, the light goes green and here I go.. I push down on the gas and the ASC light pops on, my car moves forward just as good as it did before on flat. I went on by the Maxima who now had about 6 cars backed up behind him, and other cars were having problems also, I got up and over the hill and made it.

In short: Im freaking damn proud of my BMW. This ASC is a *DREAM*. I dont have snow tires. I have the stock tires that came with the car.

I just heard there are 3 vehicals on that hill that all hit each other from sliding sideways into each other. The city is half shut down, and we're expecting to be told to go home any minute because this could get REALLY nasty.

Good thing ive got my BMW. Gunna take her home nice and easy with a smile on my face.
