take it slow, as Dragos says - smooth, and easy. Don't start out in second, you'll just over rev things and/or lug the engine. Get yourself moving easily in first, then get into the higher gears (at lower RPM's) than you would in normal non-snow situations. Easy on all the pedals, and do not hit the brakes in the middle of a turn.
Best advice (not to mention most fun), get out in an empty parking lot and get a little feel for it, without arousing the rent-a-cops. All of your actions have the possibility of over-amplification, so try to learn where the limit is, and stay away from it on the road.
Just learn to appreciate the third (sideways) dimension of your ultimate driving machine.
