The recent cold weather had begun to make my PBR Deluxe pads squeak like crazy. (I didn't apply any sort of anti-squeal stuff when installing them last August). I recently picked up a set of 16" Mille Miglia MMII's with 225/55/16 Pirelli Winter 210 Asimmetrico's from an E39, so I figured I'd coat all four sets of brake pads with anti-squeal goo while changing the wheels over. With the weather report calling for snow this week, I figured I'd try to squeeze all of this in during my 2.87-year old's nap on Sunday.

Tip 1:
If you start with 4 hubcentric rings, and install E39 wheels at all four corners, it's probably not good to find one hubcentric ring still on the shelf when you finish.

Tip 2:
It is very difficult (if not impossible) to remove the caliper without removing the guide bolts.

Aside from those two mistakes caused by going too fast, everything worked well. The brakes are now completely quiet. The Winter 210's are a bit noisier than my Pirelli P7000SS's, but aren't nearly the handling/noise compromise that most Q-rated snow tires are. I get a vibration from 50-60mph, but hopefully that will go away when I install that pesky 4th hub ring.
