We own a '92 525i. Living in Alaska, slick roads in the winter are not uncommon. We stud up all four wheels every year. We also put a 100# sand bag in the trunk. The weight really helps. I don't think I would drive it in the winter if we didn't. That traction control helps prevent all that spinning out that gets you nowhere. Good Luck!
