The owners manual lists a recommended amount of weight to add to the trunk for snow traction - something like 120 lbs? I added a little more than that last year using freeweights (from a barbell set) arranged in a puzzle so that they couldn't slide around. I haven't added any yet this year although the snow tires went on last week. As soon as we get a real snowfall here in eastern PA the weights will go in. I only leave the weight in when it's really needed in a bad snowstorm.

How much weight are you adding to your trunk this winter?
