I have for Blizzak WS-15 (the old model) that i put on my 90 535iM. I use them for ski trips in the mountains in the pacific northwest (read: deep snow, steep hills, ice). They work great. Highly recommend dedicated, speciality snow tires for traction. Yes, dry pavement handling sucks compaired to regular tires.

I run Dunlop SP5000's for regular use...all season for the wet conditions here...and, even though they are M&S rated, they suck in the snow.

Good luck!

90 535iM Sharked and Snow tired

Okay, if you haven't heard, Chicago was dumped with about 12" of snow yesterday. My tires REALLY REALLY suck in these conditions. I have an 85 635 with 15" rims carrying Goodyear Eagle HPs and a 90 535 with 15" rims carrying Pirrelli Vizzolas. Both are daily drivers. Definetely the wrong tires for this weather. Any suggestions on new tires would be greatly appreciated.
