I have 205/65's for winter and 225/60's for summer. In snow the trick is to have a thinner tire to break through the snow. In summer it's opposite. A thicker tire to grab the pavement.

Don't put snow tires all around like some yahoos. Only needed in rear. Get some all weather tires for the front.

Another tip. Make sure you put a thin layer of grease where the aluminum wheel meets the iron hub. Dissimilar metals have a tendancy to oxidize and stick to each other.
