on German cars is the brake hose swelling internally and holding the calipers on. In the last year I have seen this in 2 bmws and at least 5 mercedes. Anyway if the brake hoses look in the least questionable change them also.

Hey all,
My dealer was humming and hawing about my complaint of the rear dirver's side brake dragging, until he took it out for a highway test, then bent down and touched the wheel...nice little burn brought my point home!

So I apparantly have a bad caliper or a bad caliper mount...and they suggested I replace both ($420CDN for the caliper and $380 for the bracket)....I said [email protected]%# that!! I took Oleg's advice and purchased a rebuilt unit locally for $125 total! (with bracket!).

It's being installed now...what a pain in the ass this has been!

Goes to show us once again...NEVER buy anything from the dealer!!!!!
