I have to disagree that the non-ellipsoids are better. I drive with both, and much prefer the beam pattern from the (properly aimed) ellipsoids. The Touring lights have this distracting, slash of a bright spot (looks like a "/"), and lots of glare in the rain and snow. The ellipsoids keep the light on the road, have less glare, and of course have that cool fish-eye look. ;-) With the 9005 bulbs, from the sound of things, ellipsoids are the way to go. When I put the Euro ellipsoids in the sedan, I think I'm going to move the US-spec ellipsoids to the wagon, biting the bullet for a new passenger low-beam unit (it's cracked badly). Especially since I just took a rock on the driver's side low beam on the Touring... sigh.
