Has anyone noticed this? The older my car gets, 89 535i 5-speed, the fuel injectors seem to be getting noisier. The clicking noises they make are really getting loud. At first I thought it was that my valves were noisy and they needed to be adjusted, but they are fine. It is the actual electric fuel injector that is making yhe loud clicking noise. Two out of the six are really loud. Any comments, time to replace? or just an idiosyncracy of 12 year old electronic fuel injectors. By the way 100,000 miles on my car, does not burn oil nor does it leak anywhere.

Thanks for the info.

I had mine ultrasonically cleaned about 18 months ago. The process involved testing the flow rate and spray pattern before and after cleaning. Engine ran smoother after the service.

The technician said that the injectors should easily last the life of the car. If they _do_ fail, I believe that they are a fairly standard Bosch part, so don't just rely on the dealer. (BMW will charge like a wounded bull for injectors.)

Paul.
