I don't really know about availability in the US, but I can comment on the price...

BBS Europe lists PL512 (8,5x17 for BMW E34) at about US $1060 (converted from EURO) for a set of four rims.
There are a few resellers in Europe who list them at about that price (but of course no one could actually GET them when I was asking around, and a few of the ones I was in contact with don't even list them at all anymore).

The swedish official BBS importer (who I bought mine from) had them listed at almost twice that price, about $1800 US (converted from SEK). After some discussion they eventually sold me the set for about $1000 (since it was their last set), so I ended up paying a little less than $1900 for everything, including tires (Pirelli P-Zero Assimetrico 235/45 ZR17).

SO, what I'm trying to say is that you should probably expect to pay at least $1000 (for new ones, of course). Perhaps a little more, considering import costs to the US (as far as I know they are, or were, only produced in Europe). On the other hand, seeing it as the swedish official importer added almost $800 to the price, I don't really know what you can expect the US official importer (if there is one) to add.

If the official importer has an unreasonably high price, try to find dealers who imports them through other sources.

BTW, I was in contact with a Simone Gaiser at BBS Europe ([email protected]), who was very helpful in answering my questions about the PL rim.

Good luck on your search - I hope you find what you're looking for! Let us know what happens and, like MicahO already said - post pictures of your car (with or without the PL's)!
