The pulley is attached to the harmonic balancer by four (maybe six) bolts. The entire assembly is retained on the crank by the mother of all bolts at 318 lbs-ft of torque.

Can you determine what exactly has happened - has the pulley come off the balancer or has the unit come off the crank? If the former, the fix is simple, if the latter, I can't imagine that it has just come loose by itself.

I don't know whther the M30 has a rubber-laminated balancer but it is possible that the thing is coming apart because the flex material has disintegrated. That would mean a new balancer has to be installed.
