Ditto Gordon--I was worried too so I had a pro do mine...after I gave him a bunch of crap. He said self tapping screws would hold I said no way! He said self tapping screws $15...remove back shelf and bolt $100. He said if it EVER came loose he would buy me a new CDX. Convinced me. Had it done in '96 and NO problems. ever. (ps it took him a total of 15 minutes including clean-up) (ps use a screw gun) good luck.

I've been looking through the archives but I can't seem to find a reasonable (read : working) advice.

I'm trying to mount my cdx-m30 in my 535i and I'm not sure how should I pull off the rear shelf (to drill the holes).

Any ideas ?

Previous posts say there are pre drilled holes but I can't find them (...) and even so I would still need to access the metal from above to place in the bolts..

Thanks for any input.
Dragos
