I've had both the Bavarian Auto's Autothority chip and JC's chip in my 1993 525i and to me they are very comparable. The Autothority chip gave me about a mpg better gas milage. I haven't tried the Dinan chip, but in reading these boards they indicate that the improvement doesn't come into play until you get into the higher revs.

Dinan is made by Dinan in house, they don't outsource or sell their code.
Bav Auto is made by either Superchips or Autothority.
But it is all moot as the JC is probably best by consenus.
