This past week my car went in for Inspection II (62,000 miles) and I found I needed to replace its valve cover gaskets. The coating on the outside of the V8 block is bubbling which allows moisture to get in between the gasket and seals. There are also bubbles near the opening for filling the engine oil.
I've heard so much about the interior detoriation of the 94/95 V8 but nary a word about outside rot. I've made an appointment with the dealership to have it looked at and I'm curious to hear if anybody has had a similiar issue.
I have about six months before the warranty for the block expires. The car has been a strong performer, both on and off the track, but I'm getting nervous.
If your engine has had this bubbling problem, what remedy did you have? Thanks in advance for your input.
